I give this a 65/100. Would have been much higher but the mix is terrible with the drums (especially the snare) way too high up, the guitars frustratingly muddled and the atmosphere falling flat all too often. Unbridled at Dusk is the standout track here with a fabulous grinding riff snaking in and out through the layered keyboards and blast beats. As a matter of fact, the riffs are pretty damn good throughout with Spattered in Faeces offering a slab of death metal chugging sure to get your neck moving. Filth's make-or-break vocals are fairly solid on this one with the "classic" shriek thankfully muted for most of the album. For those interested in the genesis of CoF, it's definitely worth checking out.

Felt like the guitars were muddled/low in a lot of early Cradle material. And where were Filth's vocals ever a 'make' with this band?

The vocals are "make-or-break" in the sense that they will either be good enough not to distract from the music or be so mind-numbingly grating that they ruin the whole album. For example, Godspeed would have been a pretty damn good record if Filth's vocals weren't so awful. Definitely a "break" on that release.
