Slayer announce fall headline tour with Suicidal Tendencies and Exodus as support. Anybody going?

Morbid Angel Yurpean tour this Nov/Dec, playing the whole of Covenant, and they're coming to my town. Yes.

November also sees possibly my first Damnation festival, mainly because Bolt Thrower are headlining in their only UK show this year and I want to see them before they inevitably call it a day. Anaal Nathrakh, Solstafir, St Vitus, Cannibal Corpse also announced so far.

I was at the Morbid Angel tour in 2013 for Covenant in America. It was great! Wish I would have had more beer money though.

New tour I'm excited for is Deicide/Marduk/Carach Angren this October. I was really into the last Deicide record but was unable to attend their most recent tour. I was at one of their concerts in in 2011 though and had a hell of a time! I'm always down to see Marduk to!

The current Deicide line-up was pretty damn good when I caught them a couple years back. Not among the elite level death metal bands IMO but still a very nice performance from a veteran act. Had a couple beers with Santolla before the band went on that night. I never realized how tall Steve "Snoop Dogg" Asheim was until I stood next to him. Guy must be about 6'3.

I saw Protest the Hero last night. Giant ball of meh. I maybe knew two songs. Still, not a bad show for a local gig.

I bought my ticket for Arch Enemy, Kreator, Huntress, & Starkill in Baltimore. I'm flying up from NC to see it.

I might just go to see Kreator. Not really interested to see any of the other bands.

That Kreator/Arch Enemy show happens the same night here as Judas Priest/Steel Panther. Decisions, decisions.

And that DTA tour will be amazing. Death, Obituary and Massacre? Sold.

That's a very tough one. Hm! I don't know what to say that.

Judas Priest are old and Halford cannot sing like he used to. Steel Panther are a ridiculous hair metal throwback. Plus, aren't you a thrasher, damnit?!

There's reasons why I want to see both

Priest:
- free tickets (playing a casino and my buddies mom gets free tickets to everything live there)
- never seen Priest before (seen Halford solo in 2010 and it was painful)
- Steel Panther apparently put on a great live show
- gambling after the show

Kreator:
- seen a good 7-8 times, probably more than any other band. Except maybe Destruction.
- Arch Enemy sucks
- nothing else of note supporting
- Flag of Hate!

So you see, it's a tough decision to make.

Why didn't you start by saying Priest was a free show? And you've never seen them? Go with Priest!

I can't believe I'm saying this but Steel Panther will likely torch the Priest! Steely P is ridiculously fun to see live. As Frenchie said earlier, Halford is a shell of his former self now. Saw JP a couple years back and Rob had to sing Hell Patrol (an all-time favorite) a couple keys lower and was positively anemic onstage. The band was good but I was totally disappointed by Halford's performance that night. But it's free, so fuck it!

I can't believe Opeth isn't coming to Calgary. Unless they make a trip here anyway without the date announcement. Doubtful.
