The chugging riff is garbage. It doesn't sound like doom metal and it completely sucks out the emotion that Deathlike had. It instantly distances the broken, emotive vocals from the music. Deathlike's acoustic strum masked and sort of echoed the vocals in a way that patched over the faults in his voice. Not to mention the general repetitiveness of the chugging riff. The riffs on this album might make it more metal, whatever that means, but it makes it a worse off album. If people couldn't get into their last album because it simply wasn't heavy enough, they just need to fuck off. Maybe it is just my dislike of alt rock, but this album is a drop down in quality from their last, which I just remembered I had reviewed on here.

Wouldn't have given it anything above a 75 myself, but the album has its moments.
