how is no one commenting on this one? i didn't hear the other ones with attention because i felt they slowed down way too much, but this one caught me by the fucking balls, it seems way faster.

they have a unique style of riffing, sometimes it's a bit samey, but mostly it works well. in the last song the riff at 1.35 just fucking kills me. ridiculously good solos.

guys check this out

the riff i talk about at 1.35

This is a great album, and I'm surprised no one h as yet commented on the Lyrics themselves. Allegaeon has a tradition of getting really deep into science fiction and science fact with their songs. This one is no exception. "1.618" is about phi, the golden ratio. "Dyson Sphere" is about building a massive hollow collector around the sun to harvest all its energy. "Gravimetric Time Dilation" is about relativity within the fabric of space-time. Not only to these guys make heavy, gut-pounding music, they're smart as hell too. It's probably the most educated music I've heard since the last Ayreon album (which talks about alot of the same stuff).

TL/DR: It's like Bill Nye for metal heads.

The musicianship on this album is jaw-dropping. I yet have to look into their lyrics but the atmosphere they create is some of the coolest riffs I've ever heard which you would only hear in a high-end electronica album.

Great album, but these days the new Ne Obliviscaris is blowing everyone out of the water when it comes to anything tech death related for me.

The first one is still my favorite , Elements is 2nd and Formshifter 3rd

Anyway i love pretty much everything these guys put out. However Fragments of Form and Function hold a special place in my heart. Accelerated Evolution is probably my favorite song from the band

I haven't heard it but their debut was mind-blowing and studied at a Univesity as music theory.

Yeah I heard that, and I'm not surprised. It's difficult to say if they surpassed it as Portal of I is pretty much flawless.
