How does early DT sound like? Very different, more technical, more fluid, more melodic?

I'm not sure how to describe the first one as other than it sounds very much more 80's in terms of production. The vocals are cool, it's not more technical, there's not much john petrucci shredding. It's still a great album though. I enjoy it!

Excellent. That's good. Reviewers on the Archives speak very highly of it. You'd be right about the 80's production and the sophomore does sound very much the remanence of 80's drum-sound and the glazed and thinned out sound.
