Wow I dont check this shitty board for a couple of days and I see a lot of pussies whining because I made fun of them. I say it again HA!! My opinions are based on just that, my opinion. It would also be fair to say that Metal in the 80's was more inspired, and fresher than the shit that is ground out now a days. You guys are entitled to your opinions, and I am entitled to my own. I howerver and disgusted by knowledge most of you have on the subject of heavy metal. Most assholes dont know shit about anything before 1990. These are the same assholes who tell me Dimmu Borgir is Black Metal and The Haunted is Thrash. WHAT THE FUCK. That is not an opnion, that is bull shit. Now thats a little off topic but the point is, if you dont have the intellegence to back up an opinion than shut the fuck up. And if someone calls you a fag or an assholes you shouldnt piss your pants and run off to mommy so she can blow your fag nose for you. So I'll say it again, if you dont know about 80;s metal or the underground scene, you are an uninformed poser who should keep his mouth shut because the real die hard metal heads dont want to hear your shit, or see you parading around in your Cradle of Filth tee-shirt making everyone think that metal heads are Euro-trash fag obsessed vampires.

this is a metal forum.....dont quote fucking Ghandi....you should be quoting Paul Baloff, who would undoubtetdly told the pussy fuck who keeps complaining about my posts, to jump off a bridge, or come over and play some ultimate base ball. now there was a metal Icon....Paul Baloff, not Dimebag. I'm sad he died, but he did nothing for metal.

Dimmu Borgir is symphonic black metal. The Haunted is melodeath.

Now [that's] a little off topic[,] but the point is [that] if you [don't] have the [intelligence] to back up an opinion[,] [then] shut the fuck up.

The 80's were less evolved. Get over it. Music evolves, especially metal. Most 80's metal was slow, simple, and used excessive snare beats. There was a lot of great stuff from the 80's, but metal has evolved. There is better stuff now. You don't actually have the musical intelligence to realize good music, so you just claim that all the old stuff was better.

And I'm not sure what you meant by "the underground scene", but no one here listens to Korn, or Slipknot, etc. Everyone on this forum is in the "underground scene" and is very educated. Except you.

Whahhaha, no most of us are into mainstream, and Holy_Terror, I like to see that you revised your opinion and added underground to your message (as i told you in the post in the woods of ypres tread), I consider underground black metal as my favorite genre, I piss on the 80s though, i like the early 90s and a lot of modern black metal that tries to keep the flame allive too (bands like taake, schattendasein, etc.)

Dude, Ghandi had balls of steel and was antagonistic as fuck. His tactics just didn't involve violence. If you've got some choice Paul Baloff quotes, let's hear 'em!

Well...well....well...Mr. David long time no see. I remember reading your posts long before Metalreviews changed the forms here. I'd recognize that 80's metal pride anywhere. I also remember how you and I used to get into those Iced Earth arguements. Sadly, It seems as though time has made you more bitter then before.

If you want people to hear and appreciate the bands that you like, it would be better to make SUGGESTIONS rather then forcing your opinion on people and insulting their "metalness".

My quick suggestion:

Hi,

My name is David aka Holy_terror. I've noticed on this site that many underground 80's metal bands are not being reviewed here. Would it be possible to look into the following bands...blah blah blah...

David, if that is how you carried yourself on these boards then maybe some of your favorite cds would have been reviewed already. Who knows, maybe in time you could've been a reviewer here interviewing Holy Terror or Kreator.

David@metalreviews.com Hmm...that would be interesting..

Now granted I didnt read any of the responses to my post....but I'm glad somebody recognized my work. I dont have another choice Baloff quote...this is for the guy who's post I read, and the rest of you honestly just wasted your time because I didnt read them..ha. But anyway. "Bang for Metal" I did catch one other retarded remark and thats "the 80's were less evolved" ha ha ha ha ha ha. Ok buddy, thats like telling Jesus that he was preaching a less evolved version of Christianity. You can't improve the maker. So all you've proven is that you would get your ass kicked by more traditional fans. Oh and Symphonic Black Metal doesnt exist.

How about this: I review some Whiplash, some early Death Angel, and some Vio-Lence. In response, you structure the opinions you have in a manner not so deliberately irritating and fucking annoying.

Symphonic Black Metal, as it is called does, in fact, exist, though nobody does it correctly, overemphasizing the symphonics and leaving out the guitars. For instance: Dimmu Borgir has riffs, sure, but they're just usually one-note riffs picked really fast.

Any other early 80's thrash requests? I have quite the extensive library, thanks to Joe Scaglione. You know, the fellow who played drums for Whiplash and Kreator for a while? He lives across the street from me.

You've got a deal. It would be nice to see some Holy Terror and Paradox reviews. You guys would get a kick out of Paradox...total power/thrash. I believe the Holzwarth brothers from Rhapsody and Blind Guardian fame had their stint with Paradox as well. Heresy is my pick from them. I SUGGEST you check it out. Glad everything is resolved.[/u]

Well if Scaglione lives across the street from you them I'm preaching to the choir...so you probably have the paradox.....so I change my request and ask for some NOcturnal Rites reviews....mayhap the first two. In A Time of Blood and Fire is my fav...and I still disagree about the whole black metal thing...but its nothing we can't discuss later.

First two Nocturnal Rites... expect em in a few weeks, and I'll see if I can't get a review of Eternal Nightmare for next week.

And yes, I already have Paradox. What you should really look forward to is Joe's new project. He says it'll be something that's never been done before, and the early demos have been mind-blowing.

He told me not to post anything online, though, until later. Too bad.

Thanks for the heads up, I am always eager to hear bands demos just so I know whats goin on underground. Also if you're into thrash and power/thrash then, I hate doing this, but you might like me and my bro's band Thwarter. We're like a cross between Kreator, Agent Steel, and early Sepultura....with some Helloween and Rage stuff sprinkled throughout. We're recording The CUrse of the Warlock EP this month so if you're interested I'd be happy to involve myself in some tape trading with you.

Yeah they have one before it, though its impossible to find as it was only released in Japan. Anyway its called "In a Time of Blood and Fire". Its my favorite out of all of their albums....its darker somehow, and fucking brilliant. If you want a copy I could try to send you a burnt one.

To be honest, I never really like Mastodon until just today. I was sitting there with my TV on the Music Choice: Metal channel, which plays a decent song from time to time, and then "Iron Tusk" came on. I was never really into Mastodon's music, but since I've heard a lot of praise, I decided to give them one last try.

I'm glad I did. The opening riff took it for me. Just as I heard it, I was in heaven. I decided to hear the rest of the song out, and God, did it slay. I'm definately gonna pick this album up now.
