My throat is sore from singing, my shoulders are sore from throwing up the horns and my neck hurts from headbanging, but it was all worthwhile, especially when James LaBrie pointed me out in the crowd a few times. I know it's not that much to say, but being the savage Dream Theater fan I am, it's worth mentioning. I went crazy when they played "Peruvian Skies".

I went to the Atlanta (actually Duluth) show last Friday, and I have to say I had a blast. The only real disappointment was that Symphony X didn't make the show, because their bus driver got sick, and they couldn't get a new one in time. Nevermore kicked ass, but the rest of the opening bands (Life of Agony and Dry Kill Logic) sucked. I can't say I was disappointed though, as I knew that they would suck. Fear Factory wasn't bad, and the Dillenger Escape Plan was at least entertaining. Although , the main event was something to behold...

Megadeth were as competent as ever, and I loved every minute of their show. It had been a long time since I had seen a show with pyrotechnics, so I was impressed by their stage show. Megadeth were great, but Dream Theater stole the show. Labrie gave THE BEST vocal performance I have EVER heard live. Petrucci was great, even in those Faggy-ass pants he wears with all the buckles on them, and Rudess was amazing. Portony and Myung were in top-notch shape as well. There set list contained no real duds, and I even enjoyed "Just Let Me Breathe" due to their energetic performance. I have never been more excited than I was when they played "Pull Me Under" and "Under a Glass Moon". The songs from the new album even sounded great. Dream Theater played for probably 100 minutes due to the fact that the crowd was going absolutely CRAZY for them. The band seemed impressed by the crowd, and said that they would never make us wait so long to see them again, as it had been 3 years since they last played Atlanta. I hope they come back every year.

Yes I did do an interview with NEvermore but before that goes up I'll have my Into Eternity interview posted soon.

Man, better post the Nevermore interview first. There are probably a lot more people interested in that. I know I am. I think Nevermore kind of dominated 2005, with possibly the best metal album so far, and some kick-ass live performances, so better strike the iron while it's hot.
They'll be soon in Budapest, a friend of mine is going and she invited me to go with her, and I didn't renew my fucking passport, I can't go

As much as I like Megadeth, "The System Has Failed" kicks ass I don't care what anyone says, these festivals are always crap. There's too many bands, so bands spend more time setting up than actually playing, and then you have the whole "Wow! We have a captive audience! Let's charge $12 for a water!" bullshit. Now of course I'm referring to the ones in the states: I'm sure Wacken and Dynamo are near-religious experiences! But, with that being said, if Chris Poland had decided to tour with Dave I would have given my right arm to see them. And I remember Dave saying he only wanted to play with "postive" bands, so what is Nevermore doing on the tour? I like Nevermore, and they are indeed worthy of their slot, but I wouldn't exactly call them postive. Just goes to show that Dave is a crazy hypocrite and he'll bactrack on just about everything he says, especially when one of his friends comes calling. I'll laugh if Dissection ever finds him out on the street somewhere!

Yeah, me too. They'd probably try to cast "Magic Missile" on him.

Here's what Dave Mustaine had to say about the FYE crap:

"Also, there is a company called F.Y.E. that sell all of the bands on Gigantour's latest records and are offered a chance to purchase an autographed copy, or if there is time, to run through a quick-paced line to get the new records signed by the bands that they have chosen. This is not a meet-n-greet, and nothing more than a "how ya doing?" is to be expected, and while most people are grateful, there are a few whiners that don't realize what a great opportunity this is for them to meet the bands that they like before the concert is over, merely for buying a CD and standing in a line."

I must say that I agree with Ben more than with Mustaine. Anyway, even if I love Megadeth, I never agree with what Dave says and I won't go to Gigantour as I've seen Megadeth recently and it wasn't worth it!
