Yes. However, Gast makes a good point in that early Soilwork and recent Soilwork are very different.

Yup, if you listened to new Soilwork (last 2 CD's) and didn't like it then Darkane doesn't really sound like that so you'll probably enjoy Darkane. If you didn't like the first two Soilwork CDs you probably won't like Darkane very much.

Even though they're both melodeath, I don't think Soilwork and Darkane have ever sounded anything alike.

Predator's Portrait and steelbath suicide are the only soilwork albums I´ve tried listening to. But they both sounded kind of weak with lame vocals. Good record names though. Not the same sounds good I´ll have to check them out.. Strange that I havent heard about them but I hadn´t heard about Solwork either.

I strongly disagree. The vocals aren't amazing, but they are solid. The music itself is outstanding.

Yup, early Soilwork is second only to At The Gates in my opinion. As far as melodic death is concerned.

I can agree with that, though I think some Dark Tranquillity deserves to be listed above them both, and on ABSOLUTE #1 should be Detonation's Epic Defiance...

I agree at the gates was the best. They are melodic death. Darkane, soilwork and dark tranquillity are not in my opinion. Darkane got more prog and power metal in their music than death. The genre melodic death is missused according to me. Listen to some true deathmetal and then listen to bands supposed to be melodic death. atg fits it with a though of black sometimes. I never tire of them, true heroes.

Goddamn it looks like if my retardation got the better of me and caused a lot of misspellings. Sorry about that, and stop copying my misspellings.

Recently I have gotten totally obsessed with Behemoth. I had to order all their records and now I stay alive by licking the salt off from my dirty socks in the washbin. (once again) If only the singer looked as cool and insane as At the gates singer. But he shouldn´t copy the mean drunkard part.

Behemoths singer look like a total dork, just look at the video. But the gitarplaying and singing at the same time is just insane.

MOstly the newer albums. I know you really like Grom but I don´t consider their black days as more than ok. The newer death is just insane. The drummer is not human. I haven´t gotten my friends into them yet and they take some gettin used to with the low vocals and the death drums. So I have to listen to Darkthrone and Burzum while drinking beer which of course is not to shabby either. Discovering goldmines like the one above gotta be one of the best things in life. Metal is probably the most vital genre there is.
