for the songs is a 90/100

for the interest of that kind of "anthology" is a 0/100

so overall nothing more than a 45/100, for newbies only

Agreed. I haven't been much for best-of cds since I was 12 or so, starting to get into music of my own and just going for greatest hits of bands I heard on the radio and enjoyed.

Definitely for newbies only.

It looks like the label is trying to cut into the OzzFest crowd and attract some younger fans to the band.

Old school fans that already have all Maiden albums will have absolutely no use for this.

I heard somewhere that Maiden have sold the rights to their back catalogue up until 2010 or something like that, so I guess we can expect many more pointless best ofs/anthologies/greatest hits over the next few years.

I really dont understand the reason for yet ANOTHER Maiden compilation cd, how many is that now? Plus its the SAME OLD SONGS...well from the 80's-90's anyway.
Why dont they have a best of, containing the lesser known popular Maiden tracks.
It could look something like this: taking the same example of this compilation, with 2 tracks from each album

Remember Tomorrow
Prowler
Drifter
Murders In The Rue Morgue
The Prisoner
Hallowed Be Thy Name
To Tame A Land
Quest For Fire
Powerslave
Rime Of The Ancient Mariner
Stranger In A Strange Land
Alexander The Great
Only The Good Die Young
Infinite Dreams
Tailgunner
Run Silent Run Deep
Judas Be My Guide
The Fugitive
The Edge Of Darkness
Look For The Truth
Lightning Strikes Twice
Two Worlds Collide
Out Of The Silent Planet
The Fallen Angel
Dance Of Death
New Frontier

At least this compilation would be with new songs, not usually heard on compilations, plus it is interesting and has a vast range of songs....

Any real maiden fan would own all of the albums and totally not need this money making endeavor.
