Amazing band. De-Loused is such a great album, frances is pretty good.

Both albums are completely insane and brilliant, and Bixler's singing just gets more and more unbelievable. I can't wait to see what they'll do next, but that's probably going to be over a year's wait.

I love Comatorium and I love Frances the Mute.. I prefer Comatorium but the Cygnus.. Vismund Cygnus track from Frances is my favourite song of theirs. I know it was split into pieces on one version of the CD but I mean the thirteen minute long one that starts the album.

Tremulant EP was cool, too, and as of yet they have no bad songs.

*small amount of hero worship to end comment* :lol:

normally they were lining up at the Belgian festival Rock Werchter( today is day 2 of 4) but they cancelled there performance because the singer has a case of very bad headaches, for days :?

this sucks because i got free tickets for the festival since i live about 100 meters of the place where it happens :evil:

The Mars Volta are awesome ! not only did they release the best progressive record of 2005 but they're a kick-ass live band and one of those too few bands who keep trying new things thus evolving into unknown territories... something 99,9% of today's metal bands have forgot :(

Yes this band are absolutely awesome.

Having said that... I haven't heard the new album yet. how does it compare to De-loused?

crazier, more latin too... but it's the same band, no doubt about it ! :D

so If you liked De-Loused in the Comatorium, Frances the Mute is an album you cannot miss !

Just to be the party-pooper, I never got into them. I find the guy's voice annoying, and it all to be a bit head-up-own-arse. Prove me wrong!

Well it's all very meandering and pretentious, and the guy's lyrics probably only make sense to him and his circle of friends.. I can see why not everyone would get into their music.

However, their choruses are completely unbelievable.. it's been a long time since I heard such energy from any other band. Check out Eriatarka, Take the Veil Cerpin Taxt, Cassandra Gemini A and/or Eunuch Provocateur for particularly memorable choruses. That's not all I like about them, but they do stick out.

Just saw this band live! They were FUCKING HORRIBLE!!! I swear they played one song for 30 minutes and 29 of it was drowned out by feedback and noise! Terrible!!

Avante-garde noise rock, or something. I will admit they have a few excellent songs, but the majority are just meandering and boring.
