i gave these guys a try and decided i hate black metal. well except for dimmu.

Um... enjoy your Dimmu records, then.

Anyway, this album rocks. Usual statements on how great it is, yadda yadda, so on, so forth.

It should have been in my 2004 top ten...

Been hooked to the cd since the past week..... it's really amazing, especially the song Winds Of The Night Forest. I'll definately get the other 2 ! :D

Try Alcest if you like them, Astaroth presented that band to me a week or so ago, it's just uhm... better. Alcest consists of Mortifera members, so it's already good before having listened to it.

agreed, Alcest is good... better than Mortifera imo...

I would have liked a more hi-fi production (à la GY!BE) that would made the experience even more enjoyable for me...

It's too underground for that. I like the bad production...

in my humble opinion you just lack the imagination to see how much better it would be with a better production....

About NS and Drudkh... U forgot that the band name itself originates from Sanskirt which in turn originates from northern India. The meaning of the simbol there is much different from the NS one...

I have never considered ’sunwheel’ a NS reference in this case. The sunwheel was originally a symbol of the sun, the changing seasons and different deities (most notable in this context: Odin).
These characteristics fit quite well with Drudkh’s lyrics (nature and paganism) and therefore I just interpret it in this direction. People tend to forget that the sunwheel outdates National Socialism with thousands of years and that it has it’s own symbolism that stretches far beyond politics.

Having said that I don’t really give a fuck if it is meant to be a NS symbol here. The guy that owns my local pizzeria is the biggest racist idiot I have ever met. He positively loathes my people and my culture, yet I still buy his pizzas from time to time because they are good. The same applies to music. If it is good I don’t really care about the political stance of its originators.

It is a shame however that people dismiss this great music because of alleged Nazism.
