the WHO rocked with the original 4 piece : Townsend, Daltrey, Moon & Entwistle..... great music all the way... I wish they had stopped when Keith died and now that Entwistle is dead too I think they should never re-live the band again...

but I'd like to see Daltrey & Townsend work on a reunion album (as Page/Plant did) with young fellows kicking their old arses  obviously not using their old band's fame name...

i was lisnen to entwistle's solo album today...some of the lyrics go something like:
"this how to do the dangle, you put a rope around ya neck, and kick the chair away from under you, now ya dancin' in the air! do the dangle!"
funny.

Tommy movie is great too.

Can't believe Fred Durst butchered one of their best songs. I mean, the song ends just when it is suppose to start rocking! Guess it shows they were to afraid to try playing Peter Townsends soloing.

I never enjoyed much of the Who. Definitely one of my lesser favorites from that era. A little too gay for me...

c'mon, can't you see it ?

chances are he was bored and then posted on The Who which he barely knows... that's how stupid RC can be

The Who were great, Keith & John are still missed but their spirits keep living through great albums like "Who's Next", "Tommy", "Quadrophenia" etc...

Exhibit number 1: Tommy, a rock opera.

Exhibit number 2: The chorus in "Who are You".

Exhibit number 3: Pinball Wizard, a song about a guy playing freaking pinball.

Exhibit number 4: T.I.E. likes them.

I can't agree with you on this subject, however. The Who kicks ass. My exhibits:

1. Won't Get Fooled Again - One of the best songs ever recorded.
2. Quadrophenia - It's a fucking masterpiece.
3. Tommy - Yes, its a rock opera, and, although that sounds gay, it rocks.

I do agree with your exhibit 2 though. That song is way overrated. I want to mute my TV every time the opening credits for CSI come on.

Okay, this one is an acute sign of gayness. But the Who are an exception to this rule.
