Like what? I thought it was absolutely brilliant! A few loose ends here and there, but when a book spans generations you can't expect the author to cover everything. He just left a few questions out there, but I don't think there was anything that you questioned because it didn't make sense, you know?

The characters. Some were just too evil for my liking. The good guys were a bit too brilliant and I didn't find any characters very likeable many were a bit annoying. The love between 2 main characters was a bit far fetched as well if you think about it. What loose ends were left?

Off hand, I can't remember. It's been about a year since I read it, I just remember being curious about what happened to certain people. I actually thought the characters were great! =)

I know this isn't really a recommendations thread, but I want to throw these two out there:

I picked up The City of Ember on a whim and fucking loved it! The writing I found to be a little immature, but as it turns out this book is not for adults! Hahaha. Geared toward the Harry Potter audience. Still, the concept is awesome (think Dark City, sort of). The sequel was equally as good. Quick reads, too.

Some info:

The City of Ember and it's sequel, The People Of Sparks, are future-tense, post-apocalyptic books by Jeanne DuPrau.

Synopsis for The City of Ember:

Lights shine in the city of Ember—but at the city limits the light ends, and darkness takes over. Out there in the Unknown Regions, the darkness goes on forever in all directions. Ember—so its people believe—is the only light in the dark world.

And now the lights of the city are beginning to fail.

Is there a way to save the people of Ember? No one knows. But Lina Mayfleet has found a puzzling document, and Doon Harrow has made discoveries down in the Pipeworks. With these clues, they start their search.

What's the front cover of that one all about (the ID cards showing the guy turning into a bull)? Anything to do with the story?

Always confused the Hell out of me when it came out, and I never bothered checking when I was old enough to read it.
