Never seen Type O Negative live, or even any of their videos, I got into them strictly from recommendations.

anyway, np: Reverend Bizarre - Crush the Insects

this is going to be some awesome Sabbath worship

Mortal Love - I Have Lost...

This band is so neglected here i just can't believe it.This is a quality gothic metal, one that hasn't been around for a long time.It deserves to be atleast reviewed here as well as their debut, both great albums.

Make a Change.. Kill Yourself - selftitled

By Ynleboraz (sp?) of Angantyr and other projects.. incredibly depressive doomy black metal, just four tracks that are each at least ten minutes long. I thought I'd put it here instead of in the extreme forum because this thread never gets any love.

np: Agalloch - The Mantle

I dislike the main, recurring theme which ruins it for me.. the Em - Am - C - Am C motif feels too simple to merit its appearance in every track. that, and the clean vocals conspire to ruin the atmosphere for me.

Perhaps I'll try it again next month. :P

Boris - Akuma no Uta

I love these guys, each album is a totally different experience.

PS, why does no-one listen to any doom or drone? This thread is always neglected..

Fuck that fucking goth Nightwish nonsense, it turns you into that rubber knife trendmoron fuckstick in the helheim thread. Shut up about Nightwish! They're dull! Errrrgh!

I'M WALKING IN THE AIR! snooore

anyway, np: Reverend Bizarre - In the Rectory of the Bizarre Reverend

doom revelation of the century, I wish I'd know about these guys earlier.. they SLAY and all of their songs are epic crushings of immense proportions. they officially owns my soul.

np: Reverend Bizarre - Harbinger of Metal EP

I love that this is considered an EP even though it's over seventy minutes long..

If these guys continue doing what they're doing, they may end up as my favourite band..

np: Boris - Amplifier Worship

this is so slow and sexy.. a third of the way through "Ganbow-ki" the drone turns into this amazingly seductive part.. you have to hear it because it's undescribable in terms of music. It made me drool.

I LOVE BORIS

Nortt - Graven

I decided to give this band another chance, and I found myself enjoying this quite alot. The athmosphere is great on this one.

np: Choukuko no Niwa/Boris split, titled "More Echoes, Touching Air Landscape"

The Choukuko no Niwa side is actually better than the Boris side. 24 minutes worth of really percussive stoner doom. I'm glad I decided to check out Boris on a whim, it found me TWO good bands. :P

After Forever - "Invisible Circles"
Dreams of Sanity - "The Game"
Lacrimosa - "Elodia" & "Lichtgestalt"

I didn't know Dreams of Sanity until weeks ago, and
found their music very fascinating.

as for Lacrimosa, they're my favorite band through these years,
I enjoy every album they make, but prefer to listen to
"Elodia" and "Lichtgestalt" more often.

np: Crowbar - Obedience Thru Suffering

Damn, I love this catchy sludge stuff.. the only thing I tend to dislike about these bands are their lyrical themes.. personal struggles and demons, all that crap.

np: Esoteric - Metamorphogenesis

Man, is this doom at all? I know they're one of the greats, but this is nothing to do with depression, lethargy or sombreness. This is more like the doom you listen to in hell, truly scary stuff; beyond despair and all the way into pain and helplessness, wishing for an end but knowing that it's not coming..

Maybe I read too much into these things.
