I see the comparisons to Nevermore but after a couple of listens Comunic is really doing there on thing. The singer sounds like Kia from Gamma Ray which is interesting over the heavy prog style once you get used to it. I personally like the album and think the band will only get better as they develop their sound.

This is about what I'd expect from a typical prog band. Nothing special. Although I'd say his quote is a little high compared to his review (IMO).

This album really grew in me in time. When i first heard it, it was below average with boring long songs and average singer. But someone recently mentioned Communic in the Nevermore vs Gardenian thread and i decided to give this album another chance...and then it hit me.Now songs like Conspiracy in Mind and Communication Sublime are regularly playing.
The score of 70 is fair and i expect even better on their second album.I hope it won't take me couple of months to fully appreciate the album.

*head explodes*

If you can call a prog band typical, it isn't prog. MAYBE neo-prog. :P

I disagree with the score. This really grew on me over time and it has some awesome songs. Mid 80's for me.

I agree Crims. This CD is excellent and shows that it is necessary to let some albums absorb into consciousness before making a judgement. This CD on first listen was probably a 70-75, but after repeated listens, I'd give it an 85-90. I hope the followup is even better!

I also think this album deserves a higher score, I'd give it an 80. My favorite songs are probably Ocean Bed and History Reversed, I specially enjoy the vocals on these two songs.

And I wouldn't say they are a power metal band.

This one is my favorite. I have listend to Waves of Visual Decay a couple of time now, but I prefer Conspiracy in Mind.
