I own Benighted Leams' debut. And it SUCKS, BIG TIME! So I'm kind of interested in how this album will be, the review sounds promising, so let's check it out nonetheless...

if you don't like true black metal, then please shut up.

This bands reminds me of dorn in a way (I don't know why), indeed pretty good, though I think the score is a little bit on the high end...

Ow, shite. I'm not saying I don't like true BM, I just despise all the wannabe-ing and being tr00 in general. Have you heard BL's debut? No? Then you shut up :P

1. I did listen to it, and caliginous romantic myth sounds perfectly the same at this one, that's why I replied.
2. I didn't understand you only hate the attitude of underground BM, for in you sig you say you disrespect the entire scene.

I like some BM, and Xasthur is some of it.... But, I gotta agree with some of the disrespect out there. It's funny shit.

Oh, and don't get me wrong... Ulver REALLY puts me in a satanic mood. But, if these people were HALF as evil as they act, they would not be on stages, playing it up for the fans.

don't get me wrong, i listen to heaps of stuff that couldn't be classified as kvlt (cradle of filth), and i can laugh about all the kvltshit too, but i'm not saying i disrespect the entire black metal scene, i don't even disrespect the powermetal scene. I thought hieronimous just hated black metal for being black metal, though obviously that is not the case...

Like Xasthur and Velvet Cacoon you say? But different enough to stand out? I must check this one out soon. Hell, I'm ordering a mess of CDs in the week, and this will be among them.

I's sure you'll enjoy this album a lot zefferon, just remember to give it time because it's like nothing you've heard before.

As for the Xasthur and Velvet Cacoon comparisons, I think this album could be on the vein of those two bands but it's quite different; Benighted Leams has some elements that are common to these two bands but that's it; don't expect a Velvet Cacoon 2 or a Xathur 2, don't even expect a mix of these two bands; the only thing I'm saying is that you'll find some similarities in sound.

I hope you're enjoying the BM reviews. Remeber to post the albums you want to see reviewed in the future, or a particular BM genre/style you would like to see covered in the future.

Thanks for your input guys.

Hails!

Allright, it would be nice to see these ones reviewd here:

Behexen - By The Blessing of Satan
Isvind - Dark Waters Stir
Krohm - A World Through Dead Eyes
Nocternity - A Fallen Unicorn
Sargeist - Satanic Black Devotion
Satanic Warmaster - Strength & Honour
Opferblut
Taake - Nattestid (or any other stuff by them....)

and any Ildjarn or Mütiilation release would be nice.

Keep up the good work daniel!

Shut up you! You give me way too many bands to check out! I don't have four of the albums you mentioned, and I can't stand not checking out a band mentioned by you

Trust me, the review did not make me think either of those.

I'll do Det Frysende Nordariket at some point. I had planned to anyway.
