Wow.

Excellent review, that really touched me.

Your connection with the first albums, as you said, was an extreme one, and this one probably feels less so. But am I wrong to assume that it is still an excellent album, despite your feelings? The album title seems to imply his loss, and so there is still much emotion in it.

I hope to God that in my future life I don't go through the pain and torment that you have done, but it is a sign of excellence that the band can make music that affects you so much. I hope your present and future life is happy and free of troubles.

And, happy birthday.

Green Carnation are great.

'When I Was You' is probably my favorite song on this album. Very powerful.

Thanks for the best wishes. I do wish you never experience what I have gone through, I wouldn't wish it to my worst enemy, but it did make me tougher.

You are right, The Quiet Offspring is an excellent album, it is just I am still living in the past with this band. I think you will thoroughly enjoy it if you are in the mood for melodic atmospheric songs.
Thanks again.

It isn't almost, it is EXACTLY the same. Mine is April 4th too, although I am 35.

Is this recommended if I absolutely love the 60 minute song but think commercialism and radiofriendliness is crap?

Then you probably most likely be like me - you will still hold the 60 min song on a pedestal, wouldn't like this so much originally but it will slowly grow on you. Do not expect immediate returns, I guess.

Just picked this up and it is my first taste of Green Carnation... judging from reviews - it might not have been the best starting point.

That said - so far I really like some of the progressive elements of the album... the build up on "A place for me" hits me as just about perfect.

IMO Green Carnation is one of a kind in the music world.

This album is a very special disc, once the emotional aspects of the album sink in, it's pure bliss. There songs just seem to have a way of connecting with you on a very different level than 99.9% of other bands.

Pile of Doubt & Childs Play are my favorites on this CD.

This band will be sorely missed by these ears!

I will be looking for any news on Tchort, I am holding out hope.

Cheers!
