Since people inherently complain about classics that we pick, what are some albums that you guys want to see reviewed?

I don't mind the classics currently being reviewed, but I will mention a few albums that I strongly feel should be a part of any classics-section.

W.A.S.P. - The selftitled CD. What an amazing album! A true party classic.
Judas Priest - Screaming for Vengeance. I can't believe this one hasn't been reviewed yet! It has the most classic feel to it of all the Priest albums (except maybe British Steel).
Metallica - Ride the Lightning/Master of Puppets. Even though Metallica has appeared quite a few times lately as a classic review, these two should already have been reviewed :)
Iron Maiden - Seventh son. In my humble opinion the best maiden album to date, even though Piece of Mind is pretty close.

Those are my two cents!

Seventh Son is actually the next to be updated as a classic.

I'll keep the s/t WASP under considering, as I'd be more than happy to review that.

Dissection - Storm of the Light's Bane

I'm actually surprised it's not already there, I could have sworn I had seen it reviewed, but I don't see it now.

I admit, I'm not too into the classics section, but I second that nomination. ... I also find it hard to imagine that Emperor's Anthems To the Welkin At Dusk isn't already in there.

I think you could make a huge list of black metal, death metal, and any form of extreme metal bands that are not in there and both of those CDs should be. I'll try and do both, because they definitely both belong.

IMHO there is to far too much "classics" being reviewed here. When I discovered my attraction to metal 3 years ago and I tried to grab the most essential works to get an overwiew, I have been confronted with some hundreds "essential must haves".

Maybe there should be a kind of "milestone" list or something similar, in order to help newbies to find those works which are "really" exceptional and which also cover a wide variety of styles and genres. I think about Paranoid, Rising, Van Halen 1, Number of the Beast, Black Metal, Reign in Blood, Master of the Puppets, Keeper of the 7 Keys, Painkiller, Images & Words, Gothic, Human, A Blaze In The Northern Sky, Glory to the Brave.

I'd love to see Operation: Mindcrime, Ride the Lightning, Master of Puppets, Rust in Peace, A Night At The Opera, Once, Night of the Stormrider, Dr. Feelgood, Something Wicked This Way Comes, Imaginations From The Other Side, and theres many more haha, maybe you should update the classics more often. Seeing as how I have this many for the genres they cover, I'm sure there are a ton more. Maybe you guys could have each reviewer have their own classics section under the General Classics section, and maybe do that monthly or one reviewer does one one week and another another week.

Uh, "Operation: Mindcrime", "Ride the Lightning", "Rust in Peace", and "Something Wicked This Way Comes" are in the classics section. There's an album from Queen in there too, although I don't think it was that one.

They may not show up immediately as they were done prior to them scoring classics as "CLASSIC" instead of giving them a numerical score (and those scores have never been changed). Nevertheless, they are in there if you browse through the section.

You should consider reviewing Dio's Last in Line, and I know this CD is not a classic, but I would love to see you guys do a of review of Black Sabbath's Born Again. Although, I think I'm maybe one of maybe 10 people that actually like that cd :)

If it hasn't been reviewed yet, perhaps Ozzy's Blizzard of Oz.

I think only 10 people own Born Again. You and I being two haha. As for Last In Line... I like that CD a lot, one of my favorite.

As long as I have any say, I will not declare Burzum a classic. The production is GARBAGE, the music sucks and the whole thing is a front for the Aryan movement anyway.

I would be willing to say it might not be a classic, although that's not really for any one person to decide. In my opinion, however, the only thing that resembles "GARBAGE" here is your rather asinine post.

Shame on you I say!! Shame on YOU!!!!!

That's oh so narrow-minded! I really can't beliebe you say that, first of all Metal Reviews is about the music so all that Varg did that isn't music-related shouldn't affect the opinion you have of his art; second, albums like Hvis Lyset Tar Oss by Burzum are like a chapter in the black Metal Bible; Black Metalers all around the world, old and new, have those albums as absolute classics there's no way it can't be considered as classic; third, Burzum's music is some of the most intense and unique music in the world (I mean there are thousands of bands that are still trying to rip-off Burzum's sound, but even after all the years there isn't a band in the world that can re-create the atmosphere and intensity on those albums); and fourth, production isn't THAT bad; i mean there are hundreds of albums with worse production (Hvis Lyset Tar Oss sounds quite good).

Bottom-line is: if you don't like Burzum it's OK with me, but that doesn't mean they ain't classics for other Metalheads (almost all Blackmetalheads for example); so don't use excuses like: "the whole thing is a front for the Aryan movement" to diss this killer albums from the classics list only because you don't like Burzum or what Varg did that isn't music related.

(Don't take any of this personal Jay, it's just my opinion, as your post is your's.)

Hail Burzum!!

Also I would like to add to the classics suggestion list the following albums:

Darkthrone - Transylvanian Hunger
Morbid Angel - Covenant
Emperor - Anthems to the Welkin at Dusk
Satyricon - Nemesis Divina
