Great band. I've seen them live a couple times, and they blew me away every time. I just hate all the fucking scene kids at all their shows. I don't understand why all those emo kids adore Coheed but refuse to listen to, say, Iron Maiden, who I hear a lot of in Coheed's sound.

Fuck ya...this album is great! I just bought this today and I was wondering if Metal reviews was going to review it. I never listened to these guys before since I thought it was more of the type of stuff I didnt care for (emo screaming pisses me off). But I keep hearing everyone go stupid over this band, so I had a chance to preview it and it was cool!

This album is great, though, I admit, the vocals arent always my favorite at times, but I can bare through it. Instrumentation is really cool and fun to listen to. They remind me of Mars Volta, except not as crazy. If you are looking for something brutal, this isnt your album. lol.

I also bought the new HIM today as well, Im still trying to decipher if its great or bad, I think its got its moments with the first few songs and some songs here and there, but overall not bad. Vampire Heart and Under the Rose are my favorites.

Yeah, the worst vocals I've ever heard in my life kind of turn me away. What I've heard was musically pretty good, but it's nothing special.

Radical Cu(n)t has spoken...

imo, if only metal bands that inspired were authorized to release albums there would be more quality and (a lot) less quantity... but you'd probably never hear from your fav' bands... :P

I gotta say, as much as I thought I wouldn't, I like it. The vocals aren't great, but I don't think they're the worst ever either. I think Radical Cut was way too hard on the singer. C&C's vocals are head and shoulders above their peers in the metalcore and screamo genres. The music in the two clips Daniel posted are pretty engaging. Must hear more.

The clips I heard were pretty lame (IMO). I didn't think the sound of the vocals was lame, but how they were used is what did it for me. They had sort of a whiny tone to them, and it didn't fit well for my taste in progressive rock. That and the music is not good.

I heard a huge EMO sound in the band.

How are the keyboards on this album?

Ooops... forgot to mention that on my review

Well, the keyboards are quite minimal and Pop-ish. Expect no flashy scales or neo-classic wankery; in fact, ther are no solos and are mainly used for arrangements and to add a bit of texture.

This album is absolutely guitar-driven. Got to love them guitars on this album. Killer riffs, tasty licks and mesmerizing solos. Definitely the most technical and musically elaborate album. Their musicianship shines like gold here.

The more I play this album the more I like. This one is different to the previous ones because as Stefan said, you have to listen to it a lot in order to apreciate it. It's a grower, not one of those you spin and love from the very first time. If I had reviewed it today I would probably give it 97.

Awesome album/band.

I'll have to join the 'the-vocals-really-ruined-the-music'-camp. Furthermore I frankly think it's all a bit boring.

I've finally had a chance to listen to this album and I must say I don't hear any Yes or Floyd at all, especially where the keyboards are concerned. Geddy Lee/Rush influences? Yes. The singer sounds alot like the one from Killer Dwarfs. Overall, this album is not what I was expecting. It is very poppy more so than progressive rock oriented. Maybe a bit overated....

Well... taste is taste I guess. Be sure to spin it more than once. By the way, what do you think of the last four tracks and overral technical proficiency of the band?

I will definately listen to it some more. I actually heard a promo for this band on a local radio station. They played part of one of the songs during the commercial and it sounded pretty good.

I give this band and this album HUGE PROPS. Loved it my first time around, and now that I'm listening to it again, I think I'm gunna go for a third spin. It's nice to have an album that allows me to break away from straight up metal all the time, though there's no keeping me away for too long. On second thought, Nargaroth is calling... I think the third spin will have to wait.
