"To get a basic idea of what Look What I Did sound like, here’s what you do: Take equal amounts of Mr. Bungle and Faith No More, blend liberally for three minutes. Then put that mixture on the stove to simmer. Add in a pinch or two of Jane’s Addiction, some of Extreme Noise Terror’s guitar work, a dose of metalcore to ensure crispiness, just a tiny little dash of jazz, and some pop-influenced vocal harmonies to top the whole thing off. Then cook for an additional 42 minutes, until the crust is slightly charred, garnish at your leisure, and serve!"
Very good review. I definitely will think about checking this band out. But to be honest I think a shorter cooking time is required to get the best results with metalcore, especially if you need it to bring some texture. As for jazz, it's much better to leave it until the end as a finishing touch, as opposed to using it as an ingredient before it goes into the oven. It needs just a few untreated sprinklings acting as a garnish- perhaps in place of Parmigiano.
Lovely Jubbly!
I find that metalcore takes the place in this dish of an olive oil base in the finest foccacias. It's an ingredient that ensures the unique textures (as you noted) of the finishing product, and is inseperable from it as well. The jazz is akin to the fine Sardinian sea salt- the icing on the cake that makes it taste so good.
Damn, now I'm hungry.
They have an e-card at Combat, but the songs they offer aren't the better ones.
