I was also there at the first show in Geneva (day before my birthday as it happens) and enjoyed it alot. I am no fan of Hatebreed but I do think they fit perfectly as an opener for this tour. Their simple and average music truely emphasizes the greatness of the songs by the other bands...well, Slayer anyway. Slipknot were pretty entertaining although the other 2 'drummers' were more like stage clowns and seemed to be a little tired and bored near the end. The real drummer did a good job and got a big applause when he left the stage. Slayer destroyed everything of course. I have heard some complaints about recent Slayer shows and I have no idea why. Tom Araya sounded just like he did on the older Slayer albums and although they started with God Hates Us All, the rest of the songs were all classics. I have to say South of Heaven is probably my favorite Slayer song and it was fucking amazing but the last song, Reign in Blood was equally so, probably because it actually was raining blood!

This review is dead-on. Hatebreed, they of the cookie cutter teen angst lyrics and recycled riffs, are the poster children of mallcore shit. Jamey Jasta should spend his time finding better bands to come on HB Ball instead of recording another sorry piece of drivel like this.

I have to disagree with you Danny. IMO Hatebreed is doing a heck of a job putting out a massive amount of energy and angry riffs. The question is how come so young can be so bitter and angry? Jamey Jasta is doing outstanding job on the vocals, sounding just perfect for this kind of music.

Put this CD on while you are going to the gym and see if your results are improving or not!!

I love the way Jamey Jasta never, ever alters his tone of voice throughout songs.

Oh wait... I don't actually.

I'll bet his mic looks like a giant loogy after one of their sets.

I gotta say although that when i saw live Slayer+ Slipknot and Hatebreed (guest), they played much better than both of the two bands..

HaHa! That picture is hilarious. If anyone ever asks me why metalcore sucks, I shall refer them to it.

I'll bet Jamey Jasta plays with dolls.

I agree with the score, but the review is shitty. Common, what metal reviewer has no clue what hardcore is?! Get your facts straight.

Hatebreed are not metalcore. They're a hardcore band, and a decent one at that. Hardcore really isn't meant to be anything more.

Hatebreed aren't a decent anything. I suppose I'll agree that they're not metalcore, but whatever they are (hardcore, mallcore, crap), they're shitty. I mean, I'm not a big hardcore fan, but the new Madball album (which I didn't really care for) wipes the floor with Hatebreed!

Madball does indeed wipe the floor with Hatebreed. I said they were decent. They succeed in what they mean to succeed at. Mainstream media has inflated that to nonsensical proportions, though.

Why was this reviewed anyway? At least it was given a bad score.
