Eh Night of the Demon the song, and Don't Break the Circle are their best songs....they're one of the more mediocre NWOBHM bands, but those two songs are fuckin awesome. I would also recommend the band Dragon Fly, if you can find any of their stuff its well worth it.

H_T, if you had to choose, which is better: Brute Force and Ignorance or Summer Lightning? I love NWOBHM, and I'm thinking of taking a flyer on one of the two on ebay.

ITs a tough choice to make, I personally havent decided which one I like better. Brute Force has Violator, VIctim of Love, Another Daymare, Goldrush......man thats a lot of good songs, but Summer Lighting has The Key, Passion for the Sun, Screaming in the Night, Fight Fire with Fire.

I don't know man, If you want the more ROckin NWOBHM then get the first one, if you want the more metallic stuff go with SUmmer Lighing. The Key, Passion for the SUn, and Screaming in the Night are absolutely brilliant. Passion for the Sun is what Hammerfall should sound like, its so fucking awesome. Fuck it, go with SUmmer Lightining

to me NWOBHM is not a genre

I see his point, but he's being picky.

What with having "new wave" in its title its sort of implied that its only a continuation of the original style of Heavy Metal. Of course by this logic, Mercyful Fate and Venom are the same style of music as Mayhem, which isn't right.

They call themselves NWODHM (New Wave Of Dutch Heavy Metal). Quite funny.
