Couldn't agree more...

I started to listen to this when I 'blindly' purchased it in 94 (as in I bought it because I liked the cover), and I was quickly hooked by the best intro and riff in metal ever in 'Buried Dreams'.

Awesome.

very influencial band indeed, Heartwork is their finest imo because they totally changed their grind formula into technical melodious death metal.. much better than any At The Gates album...

they should have got back together when melodic death was the "hype metal" but they're not sell-outs !

Awesome album, Walker's vocals are so vicious, I just love 'em. I also like how they throw a bit of grind here and there, that sounds fuckin' awesome.

Whattt??? Better than any At the Gates Album??? I don't agree with you, but as I have learned by posting on this forum, there's no point in trying to change someone's mind on something. I do disagree though and think that At the Gates and Entombed are the two single most influential bands in this genre of metal.

you have every right to disagree my friend... though, Carcass hugely ingluenced ATG and were the real masterminds of melodic DM.... ATG being very good but still "followers"...

and agreed, i too like Entombed :D

At the Gates was more important to the genre but I always thought Carcass was better. Both mighty anyway so maybe we shouldn't compare them.

Heartwork is one of my favorite albums of all time. It's amazing, doubly so in how much they changed their sound and lyrics.

I would say they have better guitars, but a worse vocalist than At The Gates. It's still a fucking great album that I love listening to.

Just got this last week, and I am basically in the middle of the road on this one. It's really not even that melodic and there are very few fast songs. I haven't heard any other albums from these guys so I am curious as to what the old grindcore was like. Overall it is quite heavy, but fails to ever grab my attention. oh and I HATE the cover.

The older stuff is fucking heavy, especially Reek. Probably not your thing...
