Nice review Kenken. I bought this EP after hearing the bands sample tracks from their website. It is definitely quality material.

F... I almost died while listening to those annoying as hell voice-over-interruptions!!!

For that alone I dis this and should not buy it! Bah.

Considering that they are not Metallica or anything off the Billboard chart, why couldn't they just put 1-2 mins samples of each songs and maybe ONE full song?!?!? Hell with the voice-over-interruptions!! Image

Anyway, I managed to listen the first two tracks and based on first impressions, didn't sound interesting enough. Professional and good quality but again so generic...

I do say, why would someone waiting for the next mainstream hardcore metal act be inclined to order some underground power metal EP?

agree, one full song without the stupidity would have been enough.

I said "subjected to" meaning that we're continually just getting your everyday metalcore bands on radio, MTV et al., and you may want to try something like an underground band, the bands that people usually overlook.

Thank you very much for your review. :D I also appreciate all the comments regarding the interruptions. I'm Dreamcatcher's bass player.

Considering the interruptions last 15 to 20 seconds, you have three- to four-minute samples of each song. Isn't that better than 1-2 mins? :?

And it is exactly because we are not Metallica or anything off the Billboard chart that we have to take such measures. We don't have a label like Metallica that pays for the recording, studio work, replication, etc. We all pulled a pretty hefty sum out of our pockets to bring this CD out, and we definitely need people to buy it if we want to follow up with an album. If people just download the songs and never give us a dime for them though they listen to them all the time, we're screwed, and the people who paid for the EP hoping they would eventually get an album are screwed too.

Tell you what, if you want to listen to our songs, you can shareaza them all you want, we can't prevent you from doing that. But we're not going to offer them on a silver plate because yes, we do care about the bills we paid, and the bills we'll have to pay to bring an album about. So that's why the interruptions.

Sorry if that comes out unduly harshly (English isn't my first language), I do appreciate, like I said, your comments - you taking the time to type them makes them a token of respect for our work, in my view - and we might just do as you said and put one entire song in the future. Sounds like a good idea!
:)

Is my history of the band accurate? There is no bio on the site and I sent an e-mail to the e-mail address on the site and no one got back to me. So, I found a French website with a bio for your band, Atlantica and Winterland. My French isn't all that great, but I'm pretty sure if what was written in those bios was correct I got it right. If not, let me know and I'll fix it.

As for the samples. I agree that some short clips and one free song would be best. They way it stands, people get the whole song, but they get made because of the interruptions. It's a selfish reaction, but I do the same thing. If you want, I can go home tonight and make samples for you in about 3 minutes. I'd suggest you make "Break The Chain" the full song.
