As far as earlier Kreator goes, I feel their best albums are "Coma of Souls", "Terrible Certainty " and "Extreme Agression". When it comes to the new stuff, "Violent Revolution", "Live Kreation" and "Enemy of God" are just as good.

Enemy of God... As good as Coma of Souls?

Very close.......the last two Kreator albums went back to the style of the first three I mentioned.

I dunno if I'd agree with that one, Jeff... there's a lot of Arch Enemy influence on Violent Revolution and Enemy of God. As the ever-reliable UltraBoris put it in his review for the former: "Oh no! We're Gothenfucked!" There's definitely a noticeable stylistic change between the new new Kreator and the old Kreator.

'Course, that's a good thing if you like melodeath, but a lot of thrash fans do not.

Violent Revolution melo death?? :? I'd say it's classic thrash with updated production. Arch Enemy is much more harsh and gothenfucked as you'd say.

There are lots of melodeath-influenced guitar harmonies and Dark Tranquility-esque riff sequences and runs in songs like Ghetto People, Slave Machinery, Mind on Fire, etc.

Enemy of God pretty much has at least one of those in every song, excepting maybe two.

Their next album'll likely be straight-up melodeath at this rate.

Dude, there's so much melodeath on new Kreator albums. Violent Revolution had some, and Enemy of God brought it to a whole other level. Besides the title track, World Anarchy and to a lesser extent Impossible Brutality and Suicide Terrorist, Enemy of God is basically a melodeath album.

well i dont like melodeath, but enemy of god was a good album IMO, of course not as good as the trhash riff monster Coma of Souls or any of their first five albums.

100%. Classic! Call it what you like, this is the kind of album that kicks your ass and leaves you begging for more. Hail Kreator.

I'm listening to this right now (for the first time). This is a miiiiiiilion times better than "Enemy of God." But, like you guys said there really isn't a comparison.

A lot of my friends think that too, i still like coma of souls a little better, but you cant go wrong with the first five Kreator albums.
