 Post subject: "interesting" vocals

We've all heard laughable vocals in metal, which ones do you think are the worst? I'd say Burzum is definitely on there, I chuckle every time I hear the opening lines in Lost Wisdom. Attila from mayhem is pretty funny when he's wailing in De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas. Three Inches of Blood seemed like a joke when I first heard it, but I've gotten used to that guy and his........vocal delivery, same with King Diamond.

So what are the strangest vocals you've heard in metal?

Ahh yes, megadeth. I still cant get over Mustaine and his annoying sound.

oops I think I got confused, I didn't mean that the bands I listed are laughable(except maybe AC/DC). I meant that they have unique interesting vocals, I love most of these bands

Franta Storm (Master's Hammer) has a very strange vocal style. Lots of inhaled screams and weird high-pitched whines.

Antti Boman (Demilich) sounds like a vacuum cleaner.

I'm very much agreed with the general consensus here that Cynic have annoying vocals. Also the spoken bits Maniac does on Grand Declaration are kind of lame. And Attila DMDS as well.... In fact you could say it's a Mayhemic tradition to have a questionable vocalist.

I know someone here mentioned Demilich. Definitely strange, but in recent weeks I have grown to love the burping :D

I realised to my amazement yesterday that I quite like Shagrath's 'vomit scream.'

Add Tony Kakko to my list of crazy voices (or, as he would say, woices).

Oh, i like them too. I just meant that they sound pretty damn strange.


How about Tom G. Warrior? His voice definitely has personality. Downright insane on the Hellhammer stuff.
