I've been on a classic literature kick lately, and I was hoping I could get some recommendations.

Examples of classics I've read and liked include:

The Picture of Dorian Gray
Heart of Darkness
Crime and Punishment

I seem to like books dealing with psychology and the human condition. Any thoughts on where to go next?

Well, I did like Crime and Punishment. What is The Idiot about?

Kafka - The Trial or Metamorphosis.

Learn firsthand what 'Kafkaesque' means and become a paranoid delusional at the same time.

Idiot, of course, he wrote it.

It's complex. :P From Amazon:

Quote:
After his great portrayal of a guilty man in Crime and Punishment, Dostoevsky set out in The Idiot to portray a man of pure innocence. The twenty-six-year-old Prince Myshkin, following a stay of several years in a Swiss sanatorium, returns to Russia to collect an inheritance and “be among people.” .

I edited out bits that'd give too much of the story away. If you liked C&P, odds are you'll like this.

The synopses I read sound delicious. Thanks for the tip.

As long as you're reading the Russian greats, try "A Hero Of Our Time" by Mikhail Lermontov.
I recommend "A Clockwork Orange" by Anthony Burgess as well.

I've read Clockwork Orange, good book. I'll check out the other one though. Thanks.

Found it. De Profundis. You'd think Amazon's search engine could still find it with that extra O. Thanks, man. I love Oscar Wilde.

Yep, I had to read that one for one of my high school English classes. It was a good read, but not really my style.

For psycology and the human condition, you can never go wrong with George Orwell. I'm sure you've read him though.
