the singer ruins this band for me.

saw a live video though and he sounds better (the song black fire, btw - and yes i've also heard the original).

and sometimes the drums constantly beatng kinda take the "flow" out of the music, know what i mean?

edit - also, metalness - when you don't like a band don't you just straight out say "they suck"? one only thinks "if you don't like it, don't listen to it" when it concerns bands THEY like, ever noticed that?

This album is amazing. Herman Li really takes it to another step on this one. Dragonforce deserves a standing ovation. I reaaallly enjoyed this album, and i hope everyone else did too.

A point for a certain person who has posted in this thread: personally, I hate power metal. Dragonforce are no exception, cheesy, over-the-top, no feeling or emotional impact. BUT. I do not fill up their discussion threads by saying ''this band is shit, you're mad if you listen to this hahalol''. So don't do it yourself, you annoying shit.

I gave it a few spins (about 3, some songs got a 4th) and I have to say it's, imho, their best effort yet... better production, equal composition and musician skills

Valley was a 70/100 for me
SF a 65/100
this new album deserves a 75/100 maybe a 80/100

solid !

Gave the MP3 on the website a listen, just to be fair, and it's not bad, I like the guitar sound, but too power metal-ly overall. If I ever get into PM, this is one band I'll be looking into.

I thought they were good/great until the 2 minutes of pointless soloing and then the second song was as similar to the first as could be without repeating the same notes and lyrics.

I basically agree, solos are too overused by too many bands on too many songs where they are just not needed.
