Great album, though a couple of bland songs on the album (especially near the end).

However, like he mentioned, "I" is a great song. Might be my favorite on the disc, the chorus kicks ass!

This album irritates me. I mean, I paid for the import of Faces/God Damn War, then a US version of Faces is released with bonus tracks, then W.A.R.P.E.D. is released, which is essentially God Damn War with bonus tracks. WTF?

I have the Mold single and the Music Man EP and there are bonus tracks on those, some of which are the bonus tracks on the US releases of Faces and W.A.R.P.E.D., but not all of them, which means there are some tracks I don't have and in order to get them I need to buy two CDs for like one or two tracks. Highly annoying, if you ask me.

With that said, Faces/God Damn War kick ass!

I can see that it would irritate some people but not all the versions of Faces came with the God Damn War bonus CD. I even wrestled as to whether or not I should even quote this album because so much of it is already available on the Faces/God Damn War package. As long as people know what they're buying..besides..Iraq Attack is almost worth the price of the CD!!

Right, this is good for those that don't own God Damn War, but for those of us that never envisioned this getting a US release we kind of got screwed. Can you post the tracklisting? I'm just curious to know how many songs I don't actually have. Do you have the US version of Faces? That only has "Fright Knights" as a bonus, right?

Just in general. I don't like politics in my music.

I generally don't either but there are exceptions for me like Sabbath's War Pigs etc. I don't mind political songs but I'm not that fond of entirely political albums except that I really like this one from Chris Caffery because it has a real attitude. It also attacks the Bush admin and the war in Iraq; something that I have real trouble with as well....not to start a "political rant"....

Refused are excellent!! Intelligent political lyrics are great, it's when you get these ridiculously illogical extremist lyrics that annoys people.

Ani Difranco = Great political lyricist
Zach de la Rocha = Retarded political lyricist

Marvin Gaye - What's Going On
Mother, mother
There's too many of you crying
Brother, brother, brother
There's far too many of you dying
You know we've got to find a way
To bring some lovin' here today
Father, father
We don't need to escalate
War is not the answer
For only love can conquer hate
You know you've got to find a way
To bring some understanding yeah today
Aw, picket lines, picket signs
Don't punish me with brutality
Talk to me so you can see
Oh what's going on,
Tell me what's going on
Mother, mother
Ev'ry body thinks we're wrong
Baby who are they to judge us
'Cause our hair is long
You know we've got to find a way
To bring some understanding here today
Good God

that's good too ! :D
and let's not forget about Bob Marley !

Ani Difranco - To The Teeth

the sun is setting on the century
and we are armed to the teeth
we're all working together now
to make our lives mercifully brief
and schoolkids keep trying to teach us
what guns are all about
confuse liberty with weaponry
and watch your kids act it out
and every year now like christmas
some boy gets the milkfed suburban blues
reaches for the available arsenal
and saunters off to make the news
and the women in the middle
are learning what poor women have always known
that the edge is closer than you think
when the men bring the guns home

look at where the profits are
that's how you'll find the source
of the big lie that you and i
both know so well
in the time it takes this cultural
death wish to run it's course
they're gonna make a pretty penny
and then they're all going to hell
he said the chickens all come home to roost
yeah, malcolm forecasted this flood
are we really gonna to sleep through another century
while the rich profit off our blood?
true, it may take some doing
to see this undoing through
but in my humble opinion
here's what i suggest we do:

open fire on hollywood
open fire on MTV
open fire on NBC
and CBS and ABC
open fire on the NRA
and all the lies they told us
along the way
open fire on each weapons manufacturer
while he's giving head
to some republican senator

and if i hear one more time
about a fool's right
to his tools of rage
i'm gonna take all my friends
and i'm gonna move to canada
and we're gonna die of old age

I don't agree with everything she says, but she says it in a way that's hard to not respect.
