it's not as good as their previous efforts and I find the REM cover to be quite mediocre....

Agreed, they just added stupid growls, heavy guitars and cheesy goth-like synth.... not creative at all, no atmosphere, no nothing...

it is not that bad actually. The older graveworm is far more synth gothic /oriented. I own all the albums and there is far less of the gothic/female/keyboard excessiveness in this one. The use of the keyboard is optimum and still a present that supports the music, unlike the new Tristania. If they are in comp in there respective genre then Graveworm just won easily!!
I guess we will wait for the masterpiece from sirenia?

but this album is still pretty cool. The romantic qualities are missing for a more heavier tone. I thought that is what you guys liked more of???
Confusing. One minute everyone here uses gay, pussy, wimpy, etc, not tough/ heavey/yadayad ,then the next minute changing their minds?
interesting

I hate to be stupid, but exactly what is the difference between a Digipak and a normal CD? Just the slip case right?

Yes, the case is the only thing that changes. Altough most of the times they add some bonus track or something...

classic cds are way better since they last longer without being spoiled in any way... I hate digipack too so when a band releases a digipack edition with bonus tracks I buy the regular album and dlaod the bonuses :P

For collectors, digipaks are way "beatifull" than Jewel cases...I prefer the digipacks because normally the all case it's a work of art...It's like having a small painting combined with the lyrics and the music. It all depends on how you see it...you prefer the jewel cases because they are more resistant, and I prefer the digibooks for the art and the extras... Want a great example? The new Dark Tranquillity's digipack it's a great work of art, something you would not have in the jewel case

I just throw the case away because it's much easier to store and transport a disc and a booklet, although I completely understand appreciating a more artistic package. I'd be lying if I said I never bought an album just because I thought it had a cool picture. (Although generally, that's a bad idea.)

I've had NuTopia for a while now, and just the other day I picked up Ingraved In Black. I have to say I like the older album much better, although maybe in NuTopia they were trying to distance themselves from say Cradle of Filth? Just speculating. NuTopia does give them more of a disticnt personality, but it's just not as much fun to listen to without all the gothic melodrama.

Ingraved in Black 90/100
NuTopia 80/100
