If there is one movie I could watch 100 times, that would be it..

One of the best.
For A Few Dollars More is a classic, as well.

I hate Humphrey Bogart. I used to love everything he did when I was younger, but then I realized how bad of an actor he is(was).

Nahh... old Bogey rules. He was definitely typecast, but I wouldn't go so far as saying he was a horrible actor.
When watching Bogey or films noir in general it is more about atmosphere, characters, dialogue, plot and style, as long as the acting is competent.

I guess he was good for his day. But now I watch those movies and I just laugh, b/c the acting is so bad. I have to skip a generation and move on to some Cool Hand Luke or Papillion to appreciate fine acting. Paul Newman and Steve McQueen were (are) two of the finest actors to grace the big screen.

Yeah, I can see yor point. But remember, that was back in the early stages of cinema, and the actors were not so far removed from the literal stage, hence the seemingly overwrought (by modern standards) performances... the transition from stage to screen was still developing.
Cool Hand Luke is another kickass movie, definitely.

Are you talking about the one with Steve McQueen made in the 1960's?

The first B&W film where I got a glimpse of real acting from was Citizen Kane.

Just finished watching Carnival of Souls.

Rather good for an old horror flick.

I'd certainly take it anyday over 'The Ring 2' or any other 76450864565345 modern horror movies in which atmosphere is CGI's butt-buddy.

Still Crazy (1998)
Image
including the great Bill Nighy (also Billy Mack in Love Actually) in the green pseudo-fur coat here...

good movie about a 70's hard rock band reforming in the late 90's... the Scream Freedom scene is better than any Spinal Tap scene ! funny/moving and if you like 70's hard rock, the music's quite good ! :D

Give me an example of a film that has taught you something, Zeth.

Well, a lot of films. I just have a hard time remembering everything. But let's take an easy one; Der Untergang. I learned more about how Hitler were as a person and how the war came to an end. Actually, war movies in general shows a lot about humanity.
And from Bond movies I have learned to be a gentleman...

Just watched Der Untergang- aka Downfall- this evening. Pretty heavy, but also compelling.

Yes indeed. Dustin Hoffman plays a nerdy lawyer or doctor or something.

Yes. Weren't you? If not it was the Steve McQueen talk that threw me, which is understandable. Isn't it?

Yes sir. Some people get it confused with a newer movie called The Great Escape. I haven’t seen the 60's version on TV, so that is why I was questioning you. Then again, I rarely get a chance to watch TV. :?

Aeon Flux........

Okay, if you're going to make a movie with a paperthin plot, and rely on visual excitement, don't ruin the fucking thing by giving away the best visuals in the commercial! Jeez, I wanted my fucking dollar back. Oh well, another one of my childhood memories ass-raped by Hollywood.

Even the trailer for Aeon Flux can't make it look good. Saying that I'll probably go see it drunk out of some morbid voyeurism and hope that the guy who plays The Johnson in Peep Show is as great in all his roles. :D

Well, yeah, I wasn't expecting much. I was buzzed and bored, as they say. I still didn't expect it to be that big of a plie of garbage. Don't expect a good performance from anyone with that piss poor dialogue.
