Punishment for Decadence (their second album) is the best they ever produced IMO.... it's way more classical music oriented (due to Tommy Vetterli awesome job on the lead guitars) while still being a great technical thrash assault ! get it, you won't regret it !

The Death Cult Demos are my favorite recordings of theirs...but album proper...would have to be Punishment for Decadence as its basically the Death Cult Demos but more intricate.

I will give you the low down. If you really liked "No More Color", then you will really like "Mental Vortex" which to me was their masterpiece Musically. I really liked "Punishment for Decadence" as it is more raw and thrash oriented. But, the song structures are much more memorable on "Mental Vortex" and the production is Awesome. Definitely a must have album. A top 10 on my list of metal albums all time. Semtex Revolution rules!!!!!

Eh, Mental Vortex and Grin aren't that great, really.

No More Color, Punishment for Decadence, RIP, and the Death Cult demos are pretty much all anyone needs.

PfD is the best, however. Got some of their best songs and perfect production.

No More Color is fantastic, it depends on what you like about it I guess. If you go backwards (Punishment for Decadence, R.I.P., Death Cult) you get lesser production, less memorable songs/riffs (OMGIMOWTF), more wandering, more balls out thrashing, more shredding, more speed, and on Death Cult you get Tom Warrior on vocals. If you want to move forward(Mental Vortex and Grin) you get better production, more memorable songs(IMORLDLALOSR), less speed/thrash, more unconventional songwriting, more melody, and a more diverse sonic palette or something. And Mental Vortex has a fantastic cover of "I Want You(She's So Heavy)" which totally owns the cover of "Purple Haze" on Punishment for Decadence.

Tricky... both ways sound so tempting :? I like speed and I like memorable songs.
