Does this album sound like the Blind album? I really enjoyed that album.

I have been listening to it almost exclusively for past few days, very good album, haven't fully digested it yet, but some songs are excellent. Solid 85/100

Since Carnifex and I just traded for this I figured I'd comment as I got it in the mail today, along with a "special" gift.

After two listens, I must say that this album is not very good. Is it just me, or is the new drummer playing to a different song? He sounds so out of sync it's annoying! This is nowhere near as good as their past albums (not including the hardcore albums).

Fine, COC didn't like the polished sound of America's Volume Dealer and wanted something more raw. Well, they made it more raw, but they forgot the quality song writing that America's Volume Dealer had. I'll have to give this a few more spins, but nothing stood out for me on this.

Quite sad as they've been a favorite of mine since their hardcore days. I remember shitting my pants (just kidding) when Blind came out. I couldn't believe it was the same band, but goddamn if it wasn't a killer album. Deliverance and Wiseblood were both excellent, too. But this one...meh (so far, anyway).

America's Volume Dealer didn't have any strong songs.

This has loads. I love the riffs, the production is great.

Where are the loads of good songs here? Good riffs don't make good songs to me. This isn't my final opinion, but I can't imagine it changing much.

America's Volume Dealer kicked ass.

Then I'll just state that I agree with the reviewer on what songs absolutely rule and leave it at that.

You enjoy the lighter side of things as opposed to the heavier; I can see why you'd enjoy it more.

Not necessarily. I enjoy melody more, whether the music is heavy or not isn't as important.

Point is, AMD is more melodic than ITAOG. So I can understand the preference.

Ha! How much things change over time. Ever since I got the Dead Rabbits CD I've been on a little C.O.C kick. After a few recent spins of In The Arms Of God—which I haven't listened to since I got it—I began to totally dig it. All of a sudden things clicked! Especially with the new drummer, Stanton Moore.

The dude is clearly a ridiculously awesome jazz drummer. His drum work is borderline chaotic and earlier this year it just did not click with me at all! I was expecting the solid, steady beat of Reed Mullin, you know? Moore is out of fucking control! The dude is nuts behind the kit!

So anyway, I know am totally digging this album. Too bad it's taken me this long to give it a second chance.
