A death metal debut album from the Czech Republic? Why not? The most astute of our readers will make the connection: death metal and Czech Republic... KRABATHOR!

Hypnos is composed of ex-members of Krabathor (Bruno, Pegas and Hire) and this very good release feature old-school death metal. Brutal and melodic at the same time, some nice solos make it even more interesting. On the vocal side, it's once again extremely good and Mika, vocalist of Impaled Nazarene is a guest. While this CD is not revolutionary or incredibly original, it's quite well done and has a great production. More importantly, it has its own atmopshere and the songs are varied.

The little something that make a good album is present in this excellent death metal record. Trying it is highly recommended for your ears.
