Album of the month

What an interesting album! The music Vintersorg plays is difficult to put in any category. A song can start with black metal riffs and be followed by a quiet and melodic part with clean vocals.

This could be catastrophic if the band wasn't very talented. They manage to create original and clever songs that will captivate the listener. The singer (Mr. Vintersorg) is quite incredible. Not only because he sings very well but also because he also plays guitar, bass, keyboard and composed all the songs (except for the cover, a song by Uriah Heep). He only gets help from a second guitarist. The lyrics are also original (at least those I could understand, some songs are in Swedish), and cosmology is the main inspiration with people like Carl Sagan or Stephen Hawking in the "thank you" list. Mr. Vintersorg will also be the new singer of the excellent black metal band Borknagar which means that their next album is probably gonna be even better than "quintessence".

Even if you're not fond of black metal there is a good chance that you're gonna like this album. Try listening to it, you won't regret it.
