New Hampshire’s Ramlord, labeling their style as “blackened crust,” have been on the scene since 2011. Releasing two full lengths albums, a handful of splits, S/T is the latest EP from the band. Ramlord are a blackened punk band of the sort, with a nasty grunge sound.

The EP is a short taste of the band, only containing two tracks. The Breached Sanctum starts things very gently. The guitars have leisurely tone, but only lasts for a short while. A nastier tone emerges, a bit chaotic, and rough around the edges. Vocals are cruel, black and death metal in nature. The Fog of Neglect is definitely the more fun of the two tracks. The vocal shrieks are a bit more difficult to like, but it’s a solid crunch of blackened crust.

The blackened mess that is Ramlord is indeed an interesting quick look at their spin on the genre. Hopefully there is more soon to come from the band, possibly another full-length album here in the near future to keep an eye on.
