following the reaper wroteGf and I bought a carton of Hoegaarden recently, pretty nice shit.Ummm for Aussie beers, even though they advertise as the aussie beer overseas no one ever drinks Fosters. VB and XXXX also suck.Tooheys make some ok beers, their Pilsener is nice.Personally I like the two big Japanese beers quite a lot (Asahi and Kirin).Do other countries have this huge push toward 'blonde' beers (That is low carb beers)?Oh and I only drink beer these days because I have given up on drinking coke with spirits.
Yeah, lol, it always shits me how fosters is famous (thanks, crocodile dundee!)
It is literally the worst australian beer. And like you said, XXXX and VB aren't far behind.
When it comes to big breweries here in Oz, you have to go with James Squire. Their Golden Ale and Amber Ale are both delicious.
Then you've got Coopers who make a delicious Pale Ale, but only 4.5% alcohol.
Then they make an ok Sparkling Ale. Its a bit too bitter, but it's 5.7% alcohol. Doesn't sound like a huge difference, but across 6 or 7 beers, you will get DRUNKER. And we all know that's important!
Outside of those two big breweries, the key is finding the tiny little rural breweries.
The places that dont even sell to shops, let alone export.
Man you can find some of the finest nectar of the gods ever brewed at some of those places. There's one called Red Hill brewery, sometimes i drive 2 hours just to get a couple cases from them.
