I think I'm gonna cry.

I was looking foward to the new Dissection material a lot but it looks like I've set myself up for disappointment.

I hope their new full length album will be an improvement over this, if it's as bad as you say it is.

There's a sample at their website; judge their "rebirth" yourself.

I never considered Dissection as a BM milestone. A great band, yes, with an awesome album (Storm Of The Light's Bane) and a good one (The Somberlane). Excellent and evil main themes, original riffs (that sometimes remind me Satyricon ). But that's not a legendary band, imo.

I consider old Mayhem to be dead also. I like the new one, but it isn't the same band that released DMDS, Deathcrush and Live in Leipzig. It has nothing to do with the second/thrid wave of BM (maybe except bandmembers).

And one more thing, about BM waves: I thought (correct me if I'm wrong) the first one was early-mid 80's, second - mid-late 80's, third - early-mid 90's and fourth - nowadays BM. And you added Ulver (93) and Emperor (91) to the 2nd wave... So who's making a mistake?? :?

I thought the one that you call first wasn't really a wave (more like a rimpling in the water). I don't know shit about waves though, so don't listen to me...

Nevertheless, this song was a true dissapointment. The quality of the older dissection can be debatable, but despite the outcome, the older work of the band has truly been a cornerstone for the more melodic and melancholic black metal!

Venom, Hellhammer, Celtic Frost, Bathory... rimpling in the water?

Some people consider Dissection a milestone, some don't, as simple as that, plus I never said milestone, I said the big names jump to mind, IMO Dissection is a big name.

So.....? Call them a new band or the same band, it's the same for me, I don't give a fuck about (new or old) Mayhem.

Once again it depends on how you do it, I didn't know there was a standard for this, and the one I see used the most is the one I use:

1st: Venom, Bathory, Celtic Frost bla bla bla
2nd: early/mid 90's
3rd: Nowadays BM.

Thanks for the comments Desolate.

I thought you were stating that Mayhem are still alive. Got that too.

I saw some kind of standards on the web and the author stated it's "accepted" worldwide.

No, thank you for your reviews

uhh, you heard one new song, and you are throwing a shit-fit already? Come on, just wait until they release a full album. Then you can start bitching about BM being dead or whatever.

First read, then you can start bitching about my reviews. Plus, I never said BM is dead, I said that all the second wave big names where dead.

Well elaborated and polite comments are always accepted (Desolate), even if they're negative, SPECIALLY if they're negative, but un-polite bitch-talkin without even reading the reviews first is for cunts.

+1!

This disc should have a warning on the outside, saying: "Warning! Major suckage inside! Listen at own risk!"

I can agree with all who claim that Maha Kali is nothing compared to any creation from the first era of Dissection. But I disagree with all who claims that Maha Kali is in anyway a poor song.

As a result of the the Maha Kali MCD I do not eagerly look forward to Dissection's full length album because of the fact that I know it will be a dissapointment compared to erlier Dissection.
But deep within me I know that if I don't compare it to early Dissection, it will be an awesome release.

Then we have the fact that the vocals och the guitars on Maha Kali is recorded behind the walls of Hall prison in Sweden.

I wish I could take it like that too... sadly, this single still sucks in my ears, even if I pretend it's not Dissection.
