Aside from "Here and Now" and "Sex and Religion", this album has never quite grabbed me like "Passions and Warfare"....
"Deep Down Into The Pain" is one hell of a song! It was the first I'd heard off this album and it blew me away. Aside from Devin's amazing vocal performace (he was 19, by the way, not 21), this album didn't do a whole lot for me. Vai is a killer guitarist, but not an amazing songwriter.
DEEP DOWN INTO THE PAIN (Video)

Hmmm, it was released in ´93 and Devin was born in 1972...or was this album recorded already in ´91? If so, I hail your vast stockpile background knowledge, Great Kenster of the Clouds
Hmm, I agree that on his intrumental records Vai has had considerable amounts of filler, but this album just kills on the songwriting side as well! Well, every dog may lick the toilet bowl it likes, and I will opt for the one on Sex & Religion *end lameass metaphor*
