I'm not saying he didn't screw up. I'm saying that the whole concept of "racism" shouldn't be a part of the argument. He wanted to insult them. Plain and simple. His technique was retarded, but his intentions weren't so malicious.
i can more or less agree on this one.

This has nothing to do with race. This sort of reaction is EXACTLY why racism is such a big issue in this country. There was no racism involved here. You had two groups of people, black and white, slinging racist comments for one reason only, and that reason was not hate..
I don't undestand. How were they supposed to react when they get that kind of crap thrown in their faces?
And to the highlighted part: eh? so racist comments are not racism, just because there weren't rooted in hate, other than anger? Hate is not nessesary, imo. You can easily be a racist without hating another group. You can descriminate and look down upon other races, believe you're better and all without involving hate, just to make you feel better about yourself, for example.
But i do understand your point. And i also partly agree with it.

How come none of you are condemning the "racist" comments from the black people in the crowd? Are they allowed those words because Richards swung first? Hardly. It's just much easier to attack the comments made by the white guy because so many people fear doing the opposite.
first of all, Michael had it coming. Second of all, how is "crack-ass motherfucker" and "white boy" racist comments? "crack-ass motherfucker" is just an insult and so is "white boy", he's white but not a boy. It's not racism to call another man a black man, cuz he is black, not deal trying to hide the fact. Of course, doing so, you only highlight the differences.

But again, there was no racism involved in those comments. It was anger. He was angered by their continued interruptions so he meant to insult them in the most effective way. It was stupid, of course, but it wasn't racist. And anyone here pretending like they've never been angry and purposely pushed that one button that you know would set that person off is lying. We all have done it, we all will continue to do it. It's human nature
it may not be racism as such, but the comments where still containing words and phrases belonging to racism.
Sure, pushing buttons can be fun, but i only push those buttons dealing with a person's personality and not their ethnic heritage. Wheither or not it's better, i don't know
anyway... racism is a funny subject. Some ppl like to accuse other ppl for being racists just because they don't agree with them. Heard a funny story about a girl working in a shop, when this black woman came over and wanted to get a refund or what ever it was. But that wasn't possible, but the black woman only had one explanation. " Racist" she screamed so everybody in the shop turned their head, but not only that, the black woman smacked the young girl on the side of her head and ran out of the shop again. So in this case some ppl might think that it was in fact the black woman who was the racist.
