Live : The only act in the 90's that had success without having to play "grunge". Great rock band.
wot aboot Radiohead?
Well technically Radiohead's first huge comercial break came with OK computer which came in the late 90's as LIVE's success was pretty much throughout the 90's.
Oasis?? Blur?? Happy Mondays?? Green Day??? Ever heard of them?
In north america Blur is considered a one hit wonder with their song "Song 2" that came out in 1997, Oasis had 2 good albums in the mid 90s (Definately Maybe 1994, What's the Story Mourning Glory 1995) than disappeared and Green day had one succesful album (Dookie, 1994) basically dissapeared then reappeared in early 2000 with some succesful hits.
LIVE had much coverage throughout the 90s with the excellent throwing copper 1994, Secret Samadhi 1997 and The distance to here 1999. I mean these guys were HUGE , but they have been forgotten since 2000. from the bands you mentioned Blur was a bleep on the radar, OASIS was huge for 2-3 years, pretty much the same with Green Day which was everywere because of Dookie then it went down hill until Americain Idiot. Americain Idiot is their comeback to the top.
oh and when I say success it means commercial success, meaning they got lots of media coverage, they played in huge venues, their level of poularity was high and they were constantly on the radio, TV and media.
