The kid must have definitely been a very unpopular person or someone that got bullied very often. Maybe by being 'famous' he can hit back and boast to the people that dissed him all the while. WTF?! That doesn't make sense!! Let him burn in hell.

On a related issue, if the guy really was full of nihilisticity, wouldn't he not kill himself until after the coppers had arrived and he'd had a few shots at them? Failing that, he could pose as a terrified customer and run off with the rest of them, quietly dropping anyone that recognised him.

Thanks to this douchebag people in my town got to do their Christmas shopping amidst swarms of police officers. I appreciated what they were trying to do, but nothing says the Holiday spirit like getting the hairy eye ball from an off-duty Sherriff with an itchy trigger finger. I wish people like this kid would just quietly kill themselves and leave everyone else alone. What good is noteriety after you're a rotting corpse anyways.

Killing the people makes you famous for a limited amount of time. The suicide allows you to feel like a martyr and not suffer the repercussions for being such a dipshit.

This boy has seriously put his family in a fix. I'm not sure about the people over there in America or Europe, but here in Asia, if you do a bad thing, your whole family name would be tarnished. You'll be getting the weird eye from everyone. If this kid did this sorta thing here in Malaysia, expect the parents to commit suicide in a matter of time, to escape the humiliation. I'm sure friends and relatives of the victims would be taunting the kid's folks over there by now.

1. US Gunlaws, WTF? When the constitution was signed, most people were being attacked by Bears & shit. Now people are being attacked by each other. Ahhh I see why people carry guns, they're scared of a modern day wild west shoot-out.

2. The American Dream, WTF? Everyone can make it to the top? Jeez, if everyone is trying to be famous then what's the point in celebrity? Got to stand out at all costs, sheesh!

3. Dahmer, Zodiac & Gein. Glorfied serial killers who get a movie made about their exploits. If you can't become a superstar, may as well get into films the other way. Oh & chuck in Manson (Charles of course) and you have a celebration of fuckheads.

Seriously, I have major sympathy for MetalNESS and his community - it must be hard for you there right now. I ain't slating the Americans here, sick shit happens all over the place (Remember the killing of Jamie Bulger UK guys? By a pair of 11 year olds!), but how many more wake up calls does the world need before one of those sickos get a real weapon of destruction?

I think in the wake of the Omaha shooting and previous incidents, any presidential candidate who proposes a manifesto that bans these gun laws would definitely be elected president. Why do you guys (Americans) still have these laws, anyway? Have you all (or the government) ever thought of getting rid of it? I think it's doing more harm than bears, and mountain lions.

Our country is run by rednecks and they love their guns. I agree, I don't like guns. I think they do serve a purpose (hunting, self defense), but we don't need assualt rifles and oozies... I don't care how many animals you are hunting.

Don't put the serial killers in the same hat with mass murderers. Totally different types of perpetrators, different drives, different causes, different methods, everything. Hard to say which one is worst. Serial killers are more sinister though.

18 yrs for buying guns and 21 for alcohol? isnæt it something like that in some states?

The family in some way is also guilty about what happened, if he turned like this it means he wasn't raised in the best way. Or he was just fucked up since the beginning.

He was actually raised very poorley, he didn't even live with his parents. Some family adopted him, which he made very clear that he loved and was greatful towards.

Serial killers are natural geniuses. Mass murderers are the exact opposite.

I can understand where you're coming from, but essentially what I was trying to convey - Mass murderers or serial killers - there's a back story, a drive, a motive. Doesn't matter how technical you want to be about the differences, they're still people who kill shit loads of others! When whatever back story, drive or motive comes to light, someone out there will take that, turn it into a story, shoot a film and make bucks from it.

That poises a further question on the lines a Star Wars quote - 'who's the more evil? The devil or the demon who glorifies him for his own profit?'

If having severely sick fuck heads ain't bad enough, having them glorified surely must influence other unbalanced weirdos to try and martyr themselves in history by taking that route of killing people. Does it matter whether it be by kidnap and torture to death as opposed to walking down the high street with a semi-automatic blazing? Still gonna make news and give the media a juicy money maker. The further question then is how many can they kill before they get taken out? More people = more notoriety?

He had gotten fired from McDonald's and broke up with his girlfriend so he decides to go on a shooting spree. Putting that into perspective, there wasn't much hope for that guy anyways. I worked at McDonald's when I was a student, and you have to try really fucking hard to get fired from that place.

Yeah, that's another fucked up one, but wasn't it gang related?

I don't think a movie on a mass murderer like this kid or anyone else would sell well compared to a movie based on serial killers. There wouldn't be much plot in it. Movie start, kid gets fired, girl dumps him, kid goes on a killing spree, guns himself, cops find suicide note. Worst movie of the decade I guess. Unless the film makers can get whole of his diary or autobiography, then maybe they can capture his emotions and personality that led to the shootout.

On the other hand, movies on serial killers are pretty great.
