Of course, the g-word itself is enough to make many a true Metalhead vomit – something that I’ve never be able to understand, personally.
Oh yeah - I can understand why, because grunge is simply depressive, boring, "emo" shit. Maybe the music ain't so bad, but the vocals, the singing makes me vomit. Nearly all grunge singer are singing as if the have a stake in their ass. It sounds just stupid, disgusting and fake. Just listen to Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains, Stone Temple Pilots and so on.
Just listen to this:

There is one "grunge" Band, which doesn't make this feeling in me, and this is Nirvana. Maybe, because the singing is a little bit different...
But, Alice in Chains was, is and will ever be the deadly enemy of all real metal fans and Bands. That's just the way it is.
Nirvana's vocals are better than AiC or Pearl Jam's?! Wow. Never thought anyone would think that.
And Scott, I'm fairly sure Chester Benningtonfieldsville was abused as a kid. Not that that excuses Linkin Park, of course, but still.
And I think pretty much everyone has a kind of love/hate relationship with their parents, which is why I HATE MY PARENTS lyrics always seem at once silly and strangely... right.
