Wrong, it's Audrey Horne and Krakow that're supporting. The Chthonic rumour has been about for ages, but they were never confirmed.

Which is balls if you ask me.

But, one of my bands are supporting them on Tuesday :dio:!

Just noticed what a gigantic rip-off Ground's solo is to Pink Floyd's Comfortably Numb. Still a good song, if hampered by the rather mediocre beginning and end of it.

Seeing them tonight(Again, saw them at the Heidenfest last week).

Hm, definitely looks more like Chtonic than Krakow on my ticket, although its hard to tell from the preposterous logo... maybe they printed the ticket prematurely.

Anyway, I missed it due to complications from surgery   shit shit

Nah, it's bland and uninspired palm-muting.

That's what happened up here with the tickets, so I guess so. Shame you missed it though, Enslaved are awesome live :(.

Audrey Horne are kinda outta place on the bill, but are a really good band nonetheless. Krakov are kinda... meh.

If Blackwater Park would have only been released in 1999, this might be my album of the decade.

This is waaay better than Blackwater Park.. In my humblest of opinions at least. The only Opeth-album remotely close to this is Ghost Reveries.

Right, but think about the effect that Blackwater Park had on metal at the time that it came out. These albums are almost 10 years apart...I do like Ghost Reveries more, and think it's more developed (although my arms your hearse is my favorite)....but Blackwater Park broke more ground than any album did this decade in my opinion.

So I dont' just go buy what my favorite is or what is the most advanced, but also which albums had the most influence. It's hard to see what influence an album will have only one year after it has been released. Either way the fucking thing kicks ass so who cares.

imo DEFINATELY the weakest album they have released. But i was waiting a long time for this one, and i should have learned better than to get my hopes up. Especially amidst the terrible releases that the bands in my "they wont let me down" list have undoubtedly been putting out there... As i have read in previous posts there are some here that agree with mardraum being a favorite (if not their best) album. I cannot concur more:
SO!
If you can agree that there was actual expression in the past albums... Vertibrae seemed to be served on a cold plate of tonal absence, like watching a lynch movie on your &$(@#% i-phone. Production value wise, the sound is clean.. no real warmth or integrity, the guitars seemed very unballanced and the general construct seemed void of anything that made even Isa listenable...

At that same time, if you are a Rupophobic metal head, then this may be the album for you. no grime to dirty the ears with, no earthy sounds clogging the airwaves. And again, if i were to compare it to other albums of more "market friendly" groups (if they have recently jumped into that category) i would give it an a+... but it is a "listen at your own risk".

I played this the other day, and it is still as good as I remember it being, if not better. This is the ONLY Enslaved I have heard though. So, I can't compare it to anything else they have done.

I disagree on the production values comment. Find me a "market friendly" band that records and mixes to analogue tape. It definately has a nice warmth to my ears, you can hear the saturation and compression from how they recorded it! Each to their own and stuff.

Nope, I'm going to have to agree that the production is very weak. Especially the guitars.

This album is a masterstroke. Enslaved compositions run circles around 99% of the bands out there.

P.S. I own all of their albums and listen regularly.
