Good! But nowhere near wintersun`s debut!! JARI is A GOD! cant even compare with jaris work. 86 poins for me. Still decent stuff! But it feels like a copycat between wintersun,in flames, norther and kalmah.
Jari is awesome and so is the first Wintersun album, and I can't wait to review the next one, whenever decade it will come to. We however all have taste, and while production and vocals are better on Wintersun's debut, however this album brings me more emotions than Wintersun's debut. I find it more focused, more constant. While there are 3 songs that are godly in Wintersun album, I find all of them are amazing here. It flows perfectly from beginning to end. That's why I find this album superior, if only by a bit. I look forward for their next album, hoping they will have better production and that vocals might improve a bit (they are great but I largely prefer Jari's singing).
Just my 2 cents
Chris
When I started making the album the last thing on my mind was trying to compete with Wintersun

The fact that someone thinks it's as good is amazing to me. With regards to vocals and production, the only reason I started singing is because I knew I wouldn't find anyone else to do it... and since I sung to Jari/Petri stuff a lot I guess it comes off a bit that way, so to suit this kind of music. Of course we would like a better production but considering the album was made entirely at home, I think it's pretty respectable, no labels were interested either - so it's all up to us. That is why it's more of a hobby side-project right now. I think Time is going to be far better than the S/T.

My influences are pretty obvious, but I've never listened to In Flames or Kalmah (that much). Starchild and Battle Against Time are my favourite songs. Was definitely not trying to be original, but since those bands (Norther, CoB) aren't what they used to be I thought I would *try* to carry on the stuff I liked so much.
I believe I should have put more emphasis on the fact that you did all that yourself, no labels. Big big hats off for that ! Also it is beyond respectable, many label backed-up albums aren't that well produced. I do yearn to listen to your songs if they were produced by a, excuse the name "big shot"... Not to diminish the production of this album, au contraire, again it's more than respectable. But I'm sure you agree it would benefit from a stronger sound (think Edguy produced albums like Hellfire Club).
So you are telling us that labels, all of them, are so mindnumingly stupid to have turn you down ? not a single deal ? or were there just bad ones ? If any of these label who rejected you read this, I have a message for them : "go sell potatoes on the market, you are not made for metal and do understand nothing about metal, let alone music itself". How can label not FIGHT to get you, I don't understand this...
I really hope Euphoreon will become more than a hobby project ! It needs to go on and make more songs, it would make me very sad otherwise (not that my feelings matter in the most...). Hopefully project or pro, Euphoreon has a future, and I believe you'll have a cult following in time. Hopefully some label will understand their mistake, and try to correct the grave error in judgement they have made. I have one question though, the album overall tone is melancholic to me, I didn't notice at first, but as time went by it became quite clear. Was this intentional ?
I will ask you this, have you asked Intromental Management and presented them your music ? I know the boss quite well, Claus Jensen, and I would definitely recommand you, I would be shocked if he doesn't recognize talent in Euphoreon. Let me know and I can drop him a word about you. You can also contact them on your own, just say Chris from metalreviews.com told you to contact him.
Anyway, contact me if you want to discuss more about this, I'd do anything I could to help you get a label. Intromental is the place to start, but I'd gladly expand my contact circle if it would help. I'd also be honored to help with the next effort art wise. The artwork is amazing but the booklet could have been better, and I have done some, so if you'd like, I can help there as well.
Funnily (well actually not really), Starchild is my favorite Wintersun song as well

. Until Eleventh Heaven came around it was my favorite melodeath (and maybe all-time) song. I compared Eleventh Heaven to Starchild with the friend who made me discover Euphoreon.
I also hope Time will be better, I'm just getting restless waiting for it.
Thanks for all the details, an eye opener, and makes me love (and respect) the album even more. I really can't understand how no label was interested, it baffles me !
Keep up the good work.
Chris
