Well it took me a lot of time to quote this one. Why ??? Because Powerplant is one of my favorite all time record (if not the best one!!!) and definitely the best heavy/speed record of the 90's. So imagine after the "so-so" Gamma Ray best of, I was very impatient to hear their new songs. I know it is always difficult to release two killer in a row and this is why it took me time to quote No World Order!.

Let's get straight to the point : No World Order! is a very good record that misses one or two killer songs to enter in my list of the best Gamma Ray's record ... but above all, is missing this "crazy inspiration" of Powerplant. The bad thing on No World Order! is that it sounds too much like .... Judas Priest, Accept and Iron Maiden. Yeah I know what you gonna tell me : "This is the main influences of Helloween when they started !!!" and you're totally right. But hey, we are judging here Mr. Kai Hansen ... Mr. Einstein ... Mr. Genius .... well Mr. Heavy/Speed metal himself.

At the end, Heaven Or Hell sounds like I Want Out (Helloween), The Heart Of The Unicorn reminds you Metal Meltdown (Judas Priest), without forgetting Accept & Iron Maiden on almost every guitar parts. Yes, at the end No World Order! sounds very much like Lands Of The Free part II, without the magic unfortunately.

Fans of Gamma Ray will jump on it and this is still a very good record that deserve its place in your metal collection. But why the hell Gamma Ray has chosen to end up No World Order! with a .... ballad (Lake Of Tears). Compare to the last song on Powerplant, Armageddon, this song doesn't suite to Gamma Ray's discography.

Of course, I forgive you guys because I love you too much .... but this time, there is no award, at least from me!
